Agribusinesses, Manufacturers, Miners and Medical Technology companies (and related industries) are eligible for the Federal Government’s Entrepreneurs Programme.
Run by the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science, the Entrepreneurs Programme connects skilled business advisors with qualifying businesses to conduct a business evaluation. The evaluation is free and culminates in a plan of activity encompassing the most important actions to undertake to develop the company.
Information Technology is often listed as one of the key action areas in an advisor’s report. That’s where we come in.
How is the Entrepreneurs Programme useful to you?
Once the Action Plan is delivered by the advisor, your firm is typically able to apply for a grant to help implement it. Providing that a company like Computer One is engaged to work on the recommendations, the federal government will provide a 50% reimbursement of expenses up to a $40,000 spend. i.e. spend $10,000 and get $5,000 back.
There’s no minimum to spend and the money is typically reimbursed just three weeks from the date of claim. It’s a fantastic programme that might really help your business along.
Businesses that have been in place for at least 3 years and have turned over $1.5m – $100m in one of those years in these growth sectors can apply:
- Advanced Manufacturing (pretty much any kind of manufacturing)
- Food and Agribusinesses
- Medical Technologies and Pharmaceuticals
- Mining Equipment, Technology and Services
- Oil, Gas and Energy Resources
Or if you provide Enabling Technologies and Services (like transport) to one or more of the Growth Sectors, you’re eligible too.
We know how to get you in to the programme and making the most of the opportunity. When you contact us, be sure to ask about whether your business is eligible.
If you think you might be eligible, we’d love to talk about the next steps.
