Cyber Security Acronyms (K)

Acronyms that start with K

K8S.   Kubernetes.   An open-source system originally designed by Google for automating the deployment, management, and scaling of container-based applications.

KC.   Kill Chain.   A modeling framework that outlines the series of steps a threat actor typically takes to orchestrate a cyber attack, as well as the countermeasures a targeted entity might undertake to prevent, detect, or stop the attack.

kHz.   Kilohertz.   A measure of frequency equal to 1,000 cycles per second. Cyber attacks via wireless protocols such as WiFi and Bluetooth use radio frequency (RF) (around 9 kHz to 300 gigahertz).

KMaaS.   Key Management as a Service.   A marketed solution designed to secure the processes of generating, storing, backing up, replacing, exchanging, erasing, and managing the cryptographic keys that protect data. Also rendered as Key Management Service (KMS).

KMS.   Key Management Service.  A solution that helps secure processes related to the generation, storage, back up, exchange, termination, and management of cryptographic keys that protect data. Also rendered as Key Management as a Service (KMaaS).
